I'm crazy about football!!

I used to play seriously in the late 80's. The highest level I reached was 3rd division. Well, that was the level where the best team of my home town Kemijarvi in Northern Finland played that time. When I started studying in Oulu, I was supposed to change to a better club. Unfortunately the respective teams could not agree on the transfer price, and my old club banned me from competitive football for three years. That was the end of my serious career. Since then I focused on having fun in recreational football, playing in Oulun Tarmo in 3rd division, and later coaching the team in 2003-2007.
The highlight of my modest career was winning the over-35 Finnish Championship with Tervaarit, and then arthrosis forced me to give up on playing altogether.

In addition to playing I used to be an active football referee. I took the basic clinic in 1992 and in 1993 I was chosen to the Finnish Football Association's clinic for promising young referees. In 1994 I officiated about 15 matches in Copenhagen, Denmark, under KBU (Kobenhavns Boldspil Union) and in 1995 I officiated about 35 games at the UIUC, Illinois. The past years other commitments have forced me to limit my refereeing activities to a minimum.
