Registration

Participants need to register for the course by sending email to kapu@SPAMLESS.ee.oulu.fi . (Remove the SPAMLESS from the email.)


Credits

The course will be now worth 4.0 credit points (opintoviikko).


Language

All the course materials will be in English.
If there non-Finnish speakers, the lectures are held mostly in English, with some repetition in Finnish, otherwise fully in Finnish.


Lectures

Lectures will be at TS 135 on Wednesdays.
The first lecture is on January 14, 14:15.
The default lecture time is 14:15 - 18:00.

Mailing list

There is a mailing list for this course, cg-course@ee.oulu.fi. This list is meant for

    • quick information about schedules, etc. (say, a cancellation or transfer of a lecture)
    • any general discussion that probably is beneficial to most attendants, such as
      • asking for clarification for unclear homework instructions
      • practical hints about getting programming assignments done
      • practical hints about getting software installed
      • etc.

You can join the list by registering (or just ask to get there if you plan to attend but not for credit).


Grading

There will be a final exam whose weight is going to be about 50%. The rest will come from the homeworks.
In order to pass the class, you must get at least 25% of the maximum points for each homework and the final exam, and you must get over 50% of the total points.


Prerequisites

Computer programming. You are expected to have some proficiency in computer programming, experience in object-oriented programming is helpful. You are not expected to know the language we use (Python) beforehand.

Mathematics. Successful completion of Matrix algebra and Analytical geometry is recommended.
