C-ELROB Scenarios
Non-urban scenario
- Environment: 400x400 m area with paved roads, unpaved roads, trails, woods and off-road areas. Examples of obstacles include ditches, berms, sandy ground, standing water, fire, rocks, boulders, narrow underpasses, construction equipment, concrete safety rails, power line towers, wire fences and cattle quards.
- Task: As fast as possible autonomously search the area, detect points of interest(static and dynamic), identify, locate and record, report results to judge. The robot must be able to detect and circumnavigate possible obstacles.
Urban scenario
- Environment: 400x400 m area with paved and unpaved roads. Examples of obstacles: ditches, berms, washboards, standing water, fire, boulders, narrow underpasses, construction equipment, concrete safety rails, power line towers and wire fences.
- Task: Task is to drive and explore terrain, gather information about environment, detect building to explore, inspect outside of defined building, if possible enter building, search one room (probably low light and collapsed), report result to judge. The robot must be able to detect and circumnavigate possible obstacles. Obstacles will be different than in non-urban, because of collapsed building.
Combined UGV/UAV Scenario (Unmanned Ground Vehicle/Unmanned Aerial Vehicle)
- Environment: The operational area includes paved and unpaved regions, trails and off-road desert areas. There are ditches, berms, washboards, sandy ground, standing water, fire, rocks and boulders, construction equipment, concrete safety rails, power line towers, wire fences.
- Task: Autonomously search pre-designated area by UAV, detect and locate points of interes, report results to operator and UGV. UGV must be used to exactly identify and record the incidents, report results to judge.
Autonomous reconnaissance
- Environment: Urban, non-urban, outdoor, roads, tracks, woodland. The route includes an urban route (app. 3km) and a non-urban route (app. 2km). Team can do one or the other or both. Route is "specified" by some blurred and fuzzy GPS points (max 10 per route).
- Task: Task is to navigate autonomously the pre-designated route, detect objects of interest (static and dynamic) during the route. Beside the navigation, the system has to do some reconnaissance task (detect coloured objects while moving, locate them and record object positions).
