It is possible to achieve either a Dr Tech, PhD or Lich Tech degree at the Department of Electrical and Information Engineering. More information on post graduate studies can be found on guidelines of the Faculty of Technology, and on guidelines updated at the Department of Electrical and Information Engineering.

All post graduate students are transferred from 1.8.2008 on to a new degree requirement system. Thus, the extent of the post graduate studies is measured in ECTS units. The scope of the specific studies is 60 ECTS.

General

The phases of the post graduate studies are chronologically expressed in the curriculum of the Faculty of Technology. Some department specific additions have been stated in the Department of Electrical and Information Engineering post graduate curriculum.

The post graduate studies board prepares all the actions related to the studies.

Post graduate studies board

The requirements of the post graduate studies are personal, and determined in close cooperation with the instructing professor. The instructing professor and other teachers at the department can propose additional courses and exam literature. However, the post graduate studies board checks the scope of the additional courses. The board also inspects and approves the personal curriculum.

The post graduate studies board at the Department of Electrical and Information Engineering gathers approximately once a month.

Questions related to post graduate curricula, curriculum approvements and other issues handled by the post graduate studies board must be primarily submitted to the board member representing one's own laboratory/science.
