Events

The Department of Electrical and Information Engineering is a science community consisted of 2,000 M.Sc. students, 600 D.Sc. students, and over 400 employees, such as professors and researchers.

The research at the Department of Electrical and Information Engineering has been ranked internationally high. The research groups of the department are part of one of the focus areas of The University of Oulu: information technology and wireless communications.

Masters of Science in Engineering are educated in two degree programmes, which are electrical engineering and information engineering. The Department of Electrical and Information Engineering has been nominated as a high teaching quality unit within The University of Oulu.

The department is located at the Linnanmaa campus.

From August 1st, 2011 onwards, the Department was administratively divided into three different departments. It now consists of:

• Department of Electrical Engineering

  • consists of Electronics Lab, Optoelectronics and Meas. Tech lab, Labs. of Microelectronics and Material Science, and Mathematics Division
• Department of Computer Science and Engineering
