Focus area of Information Technology and Wireless Communications
Information Technology and Wireless Communications is the most essential focus area of the University of Oulu. Infotech Oulu is an umbrella organisation of the focus area research activities. Most of the Infotech Oulu research groups come from the department of Electrical and Information Engineering. High quality within the research groups and in the whole focus area is assured by an external evaluation process. A research group receives and is able to maintain a status in Infotech Oulu, only if it passes the external evaluation. In the focus area evaluation, which was conducted as a part of the University of Oulu Research Assessment Exercise, 5 Infotech Oulu research groups achieved excellent grades. These research groups were Circuits and Systems (CAS-Oulu), Electronics Materials, Packaking and Reliability Systems (EMPART), Machine Vision Group (MVG), Optoelectronics and Measurement Unit (OPME) ja Wireless Communication Systems (WCS). Infotech Oulu also offers post graduate studies trough its own Graduate school. |
