Optional courses is built up from a list of elective courses by a student's choice. For the Wireless Communication Engineering Programme, the below elective courses are available.

It is also possible to include at most 4 ECTS elective Finnish language studies into the supplementary module. Lanquage courses are taught by the UO Language Center, UO Open University or Summer University of Northern Ostrobothnia at summer time. The following Finnish courses available for WCE students:

900017Y Survival Finnish Course - 2 ECTS credits
900013Y Beginners' Finnish Course 1 - 2 ECTS credits
900053Y Beginners' Finnish Course 2 - 4 ECTS credits

At least 13 ECTS must be chosen (including Finnish language courses)

Module outcome

Depending on your choice, this special module makes it possible for you to widen your expertise into the fields of practical analog and digital electronics design, design of computer networks, modern multimedia system design, as well as practical computer and software engineering. Language studies help students to manage in daily life and to integrate into Finnish society.
